From Silence
Date
November, 2016
Children are in lockdown and their lives are threatened. Among them is Elaina, the granddaughter of Esther Gold—a Holocaust survivor who has spent decades living in silence.
As Esther anxiously waits for news, memories of Ravensbrück flood back to her: the horrors she faced, the German political prisoner who ended up saving her life, and the vow she made to never remain silent again—a vow she’s since broken. Her silence, once a necessary shield, has become a wound spanning generations.
With her granddaughter now in danger, Esther is forced to confront the past she's long attempted to bury. If she doesn’t choose to speak now, her chance to comfort Elaina—and to finally tell her story—may be lost forever.
Can Esther break her silence before it’s too late? Speaking truth to power is terrifying. But now, she must.
